M'Liss has had a life long love affair with textiles and sewing. She began her career at the age of 4 embroidering napkins under the guidance of her mother. At the age of 9, her father fibbed about her age and signed her up for quilting lessons at the local fabric shop. In college, she majored in Textile Arts at the University of Washington and did graduate work in Clothing Design and Construction at Central Washington University.
M'Liss is a well known internationally as a

Beginning in 2007, Jo-Ann Fabrics and Craft Stores featured M'Liss's exclusive quilting fabric collections in over 800 stores nationwide with new collections released every other month.

![]() With George on a Photo Shoot The Rest of the Family M’Liss lives on a small filbert tree farm on Whidbey Island, Washington with her family, five dachshunds, four cats and an assortment of drop-ins. Her husband, Michael, is the retired Sheriff of Island County, Washington and writes murder mysteries in his spare time. They have two children: Alexander, a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps currently serving his second tour in Iraq and Adrienne, a recent college graduate from Seattle University and is working as a firefighter.
